David Chu made his first bamboo headjoint around 1990 following the specifications given in Boehm’s famous book The Flute and Flute Playing. His interest in flute construction brought him to the late Robert Gilchrist with whom he learned flute acoustics and repair. Over the years, he has worked in every aspect of flute-making at the workshops of Burkart-Phelan, Arista Flutes, and the Haynes Flute Company. His handmade wood headjoints are a testament to his expertise and craftsmanship. Alberto Grossi Woodwinds is proud to be a dealer for these fine wooden headjoints.
