Services

Annual Clean, Oil and Adjust (COA): Recommended every year to keep flutes and piccolos in the best working condition, a COA includes disassembly, cleaning and hand-polishing of keys; cleaning and hand-polishing of the headjoint, body and foot; cleaning, oiling and adjustment of the mechanism; adjustment and seating of pads; and replacement of the headjoint cork. Individual pads when changed are charged separately. Time required: 5 business days

Oil and Adjust (OA): If you do not need a full Overhaul or COA, an OA will take care of any minor issues or emergencies to keep your instrument playing its best. This service includes only pad and mechanism adjustment. Replacement of pads or the headjoint cork will be charged separately. The cost of adjustments is based on the time needed for the repairs and can often be done while you wait. When any pads are changed, it is recommended to leave the flute with us for one or two days for better adjustment stability. Time required: 1-2 business days

Overhaul (OH): A much more extensive service, an Overhaul includes replacement of all pads, felts and corks; spring replacement if needed; removal of dents and scratches; mechanical repairs, including removal of side motion; cleaning and high polishing of keys, headjoint, body and foot; cleaning and application of oil on wood for wooden instruments. Muramatsu pads are used for Muramatsu flutes unless the client prefers another type of pad. Time required: 3-4 weeks
